MapContacts is a Microsoft Outlook, Goldmine, and
ACT! AddIn which creates a link to the currently selected contact address or
location in Google Earth (formerly Keyhole).
INSTALLATION
MapContacts is distributed as a self-extracting
setup file called "MapContacts.EXE". MapContacts requires that you have some
version of
Google Earth or Keyhole installed.
OPERATION
After installation, Outlook, MapPoint and ACT!
will have a new menu item in the Tools main menu called "MapContacts". When you
click this menu item, MapContacts will create a link and launch Google Earth
which will then automatically navigate to the selected location.
OUTLOOK
In addition to the MapContacts menu items added to
the Outlook Tools menu, a "Map Address" action item will be added to the context
menu for each contact. If the selected contact has a valid Home, Business, or
other address, it will be mapped in Google Earth.
ACT!
In addition to the MapContacts menu items added to
the ACT! Tools menu, a "Map Address" button will be added to the Contact Detail
toolbar. For ACT7 and 8, there will also be a button for the Group and Company
detail toolbars.
For either Outlook or ACT, you can select to map
the current "Lookup" instead of the current contact. In this case, MapContacts
will attempt to match the address for each contact in the currently selected
View or Lookup. Depending on how many contacts are selected, this process could
take some time to complete.
GOLDMine
MapContacts presents itself as a Taskbar Group in
Goldmine. Simply select the MapContacts Group panel and click on the shortcut to
map the currently selected contact in Google Earth.
